        英語教學‖是常規督導,是教學培訓,更是教研點撥

            2019916號,楓葉教育集團英語教學中心翟霞總監從大連總部直飛鄂爾多斯,在短暫的兩天時間內,馬不停蹄地對我校英語中外教師進行聽、評課指導。以“中國英語教育及楓葉英語特色”為主題對我校ETC團隊進行連續一個半小時的培訓。在培訓中,對英語分級考試、英語分級閱讀展開指導,基于《楓葉英語課程質量標準》對英語課堂教學進行反饋;對校區英語教學研究課題進行討論;對我校ETC后備干部進行考察、座談。

            

        917號上午和18號上午,翟霞總監分別進班聽六節英語課,其中五節為中教課,一節外教課。早在20189月,集團ETC兩位領導曾百忙之中親自來校,對我校中、外教團隊進行長達三天的培訓。這一次督導,就是在去年培訓的基礎上,針對我校英語團隊是否認真落實培訓所得,檢查英語分級教學是否落地而進行的一次英語教學督導。

            

        三年級王艷霞老師的課,以What do you wear?為主題,讓學生認識服裝名稱,結合之前所學四季,懂得在不同的季節、不同的場合要選擇恰當的衣服。三年級的學生可以用I wear…when it’s hot/warm/cool. 或者She wears …when it’s time to take a bath/go to school. 來流利表達并對服裝作恰當選擇。

         

         

        二年級陳鑫老師以Where’s…? 和方位介詞為主線,既學習名詞單、復數,又在一問一答中讓學生表述物品位置。本節課教學設計邏輯性與趣味性兼具;學生注意力集中;課堂節奏老師把握較好;教師對重點句型呈現清晰、自然;黑板布局、板書雅觀,既是一堂引導學生靈活學習、課堂容量大的聽說課,也是讓聽者賞心悅目的一堂精品展示課。

         

         

        六年級柴源老師以Take Care Of The Earth為話題,對Level 5學生進行了一堂英語閱讀課教學。通過一節課的學習,學生不僅學會文本知識,更get到一項新技能,那就是sort the trash(垃圾分類)。

         

        此外,Jessica分別在七年級和八年級聽評外教Rommel,中教劉婷老師和胡樂老師的常規課。

        在評課中,Jessica贊賞了我校年輕英語教師們上課進步大;英語教學的策略與技巧能在課堂上傳授給學生;學生學習的狀態非常好。但同時,她也分享個人聽課的幾點感受:

        1. 作為教師,只有提升自己,才能改變他人。英語教師一定要重視自身素養的提高。自己要多聽、多讀,才能豐富自己的課堂語言。

        2. 英語教學設計一定以學生為主設定教學目標。只有目標清晰了,課的流程才完整。

        3. 在英語教學的過程中,教師不是單純地教語言,而是重方法。

        雖然通過校級、集團、區級、市級課堂教學比賽,我校英語教師多次載譽而歸。但老師都感嘆:作為一名教授語言的老師,學習的路還很長。必須堅持終身學習!

         

        917號下午的培訓會上,翟霞總監從楓葉的文化理念到英語課標要求, 對比中國英語教育現狀,從Philosophy理念、Objectives目標、Textbook教材、Methods教法、Assessment評價五個維度詳細解讀楓葉英語特色。既讓我們找準了自己的優勢,又認清了努力的方向。

        作為楓葉的英語教師,著力提高學生的口語表達,提升學生的英語思維,特別是用英語思維能力需要老師們在日常英語課上進行落實。英語教師本身應該成為英語教學的教研者、教育方法的變革者、也是楓葉學子英語學習的指導者。要明白學生的“學”始終優于教師的“教”。只有當老師們真正著眼于學生的英語能力時,才有能力把楓葉學子送入世界一流大學。我們深深地知道:作為楓葉英語教師,如何創設靈動的、高效的、有思考力的英語課堂是我們永遠教研的主題。

        通過本次督導培訓,我們更有信心地努力,因為Abraham Lincoln曾說過這樣一句話:

        I am a slow walker, but I never walk backwards.我走得很慢,但我從不后退。

         

         

         

         

         

        On September 16, 2019, Jessica, the director of ETC, Head Office flew to Ordos directly from  Dalian. During the short two days, she continuously observed and evaluated the English teaching of our school. With the theme of "English education in China and in Maple Leaf", the ETC team was trained for one and a half hours continuously. During the training, she provided guidance on English Leveling test and English Leveling reading, and gave feedback on English classroom teaching based on Maple Leaf English Curriculum Standard. Discuss the research topics of English teaching in school district; Inspect and discuss ETC reserve cadres in our school.

         

        On the morning of September 17th and 18th respectively, Jessica observed six English classes, five of which were Chinese and one of which was foreign. As early as September 2018, two leaders of Head Office took time out of their busy schedule and come to our school to train our Chinese and foreign teachers for three days. This supervision is an English teaching supervision based on last year's training, aiming at whether the English team of our school earnestly implements the training income and checks whether the graded English teaching is implemented.

         

        For YoYo’s class in Grade Three, with the topic of What do you wear? Let the students identify the words of the clothes, combined with four seasons. After learning, students understand how to choose appropriate clothes in different seasons or in different occasions. Third graders can use the patterns like I wear... When it's hot/warm/cool. Or She wears... When it's time to take a bath/go to school.

         

        For Ruby’s class in Grade Two, the topic is Where's my schoolbag ? The lesson design of this class is both logical and interesting. Students are attentive in class. The flow of the lesson is appropriate. The teacher highlights the key language points with the clear and natural board design. The lesson is very successful, not only provide flexible learning, but also let the observers enjoy it.

         

        For Alice’s class in Level 5 of Grade 6 taught an English reading class on the topic Of "Take Care Of The Earth". In class, students not only learn the text knowledge, but also get a new skill, that is sort the trash.

         

        In addition, Jessica observed ESL teacher Rommel’s, bilingual teacher Monica’s and Phyllis' regular lessons in grade 7 and grade 8 respectively.

         

        After class observation, Jessica thought highly of the young English teachers in our school for their great progress in English teaching. English teaching strategies and skills are highly encouraged to be taught to students in the classroom. The students study actively in class. Meanwhile, she also shared her own thoughts before giving the lecture:

         

        1. As a teacher, only if we improve ourselves,  we have ability to change others. English teachers must pay attention to the improvement of our own quality. In order to enrich our own classroom language, we’d better learn as much as we can.

         

        2. Teaching objectives must be focused on students. Only when the goal is measurable, it will be achieved.

         

        3. In the process of English teaching, different teaching strategies or methods should be adopted in different types of classes for different learners.

         

        Although a few English teachers in our team have won awards in different competitions, we realize that as a language teacher, there is still a long way to go.

         

        In the training meeting on the afternoon of September 17, Jessica compared the current situation of English education in China from Maple Leaf's cultural concept to English curriculum standard requirements, and interpreted maple leaf's English features from five areas, namely Philosophy, Objectives, Textbook, Methods and Assessment. Not only let us find their own advantages, and recognize the direction of efforts.

         

        As an English teacher of Maple Leaf, we focus on improving students' oral expression and English thinking, especially the ability of thinking in English, which needs teachers to implement in daily English classes. English teachers themselves should be the teachers of English teaching, the reformers of teaching methods, and the instructors of English learning for maple leaf students. To understand that students' "learning" is always better than teachers' "teaching". Only when teachers truly focus on students' English ability, we could send Maple Leaf students to world-class universities. We deeply know that, as maple leaf English teachers, how to create a dynamic, efficient, English-thinking atmosphere in class is our forever teaching and research theme.

         

        Through this supervisory, we work with confidence, because Abraham Lincoln once said, I am a slow walker, but I never walk backwards.
